Saturday 8/12/12
SEAA Vets Champs Claybury Essex. Better
weather, sunny & mild but very wet and muddy underfoot. Got about 4 miles in as a warm up including
drills and strides. Probably went off to
hard in first mile as slowed in second and found achievable pace. Legs felt
heavy after hard week training and I didn’t ease off for this race at all. Finished 26th/60 fairly pleased
but felt could have gone a lot better on fresher legs. Ave pace on the mud was
6.29 m/m
PM: Distance: 10 miles Time: 01:17:46 Ave Race Pace: 6.29 m/m
Sunday 9/12/12
Woke up and felt exhausted, no way I could
run this morning so decided to leave it and go out in the afternoon at about
3.00pm. After a hard week I knew there would be no pace on the run so just went
out and did it without looking at the watch.
After about 6 miles I was thinking “how am I going to do another 12” but
put head down and pushed on and finally getting there!!
Well 1st week done only 19 to
go!! Seems a long time but it will quickly zip round.
PM: Distance: 18 miles Time: 02:25:54 Ave Pace: 8.06 m/m

Good first week of marathon training, now need to get consistent high milage, as I feel it gives the legs added strength to be able to hold the pace when running a marathon.
